Low quality control. Prone to failure.

I've bought three of these. One works flawlessly, while two give me problems after a while. Initially, when new they all work. After a month of use, two failed. Now when I use it, I have to give it time to"cool down", and it will work for 15 mins at a time. Then the monitors go on the blink. The fault is in the internal circuitry.

Bluetooth could be a lot stronger.

Physically the product is well made. The material is strong. I bought this to replace another product from a local hardware supplier that repeatedly failed because the plastics in it gave way. That product from Bunnings kept breaking annually because it wasn't able to handle the pressure or else the plastics were just cheap. This one handles higher water pressure and sounds stronger right from the start. The problem is the bluetooth. The app is OK although a lot of people complain about it not working. The app works for me, but the bluetooth is so weak that I have to be literally next to the gadget to change any setting. That is really poor bluetooth design or weak battery design. Any more than 0.5 meter away and it loses connectivity. When it loses connectivity, the app crashes. I would suggest they redesign the bluetooth to give it more range.

New Nikon WU-1B WiFi Adapter

Handy Unit

I orinigally bought TP-Link TL-MR3040 to use with both my Nikon D7000 and D610 as it was compatible with both. It cost AU$60 and it was great to have untethered control of my cameras. I use DSLR Dashboard and love the software. After a while I found the size of the MR3040 an issue, so I purchased this WU-1B when it was selling for AU$40. Very reasonably priced ... but it only works with my D610. It is my main camera and is now permanently attached to the strap of my camera via the little box it comes with.
