Cooling cooler!
I actually wanted to get rid of an unbearably loud fan in my old Toshiba Portege. I plugged the cooling fan out and did not put the cover back. I placed the laptop on the cooler making sure there were no short circuits. The cooler does the job quietly. The only thing is that there are no speed levels but it is okay. The CPU now gets up to 61 degrees (Celcius) under heavy load :) I pity all the years went by making me nearly deaf :(
