Charlie Rich with a little soul jazz and blues
Charlie Rich’s last album is an intimate affair that presents Charlie with a blusier edge. Charlie returned to a simple direct approach for recording this album, playing with a small group of sympathetic musicians. A throw back to the kind of recording he did in his early Sun years, rather than a big slick production with strings. Charlie reminds me of Ray Charles both artists could interpret any kind of music and bring the soul. Recommended for fans of all sides of Charlie’s unique talents. He went out on a high note.
