Alpina AL-750B4E6B Swiss Automatic AL-750 Chronograph Watch
    20 November 2018
Great value Swiss chronograph with classic, vintage-inspired look!
Better than expected in that it definitely appears better than what I'd seen in photos (not having seen the piece previously in person). I just received it and have not worn it yet (it appears to be running spot-on, though). The reason I cannot wear it (yet) is also that which leads to 4 (and not 5 stars--also cannot state yet how comfortable the piece is): the bracelet appears to be of the pin and collar type. I currently do not have a good (enough) pin punch/pusher tool so I am presently ordering such a tool; hopefully will be wearing the piece within a week! That said, I'm sure that the bracelet is quite stable (and it's not heavy--rather lightweight, so it should be comfortable on the wrist). I love the boxed sapphire crystal, which gives it a classic appearance (along with the tapered hands). Lume is so-so (mainly because it's minimal--very subtle; I know from experience that this is not unusual for non-diver, luxury Swiss timepieces, so not a griping point). I cannot think of anything 'bad' to say about it! The date-set is quick and crisp; the stem is a bit difficult to grasp for winding, but it's overall fine. UPDATE: Finally got my decent tools and was able to adjust the bracelet! It is indeed the pin/collar type. It took some doing and handiwork to finally get the pins out, but once you learn how to do it, with the appropriate tools (I highly recommend a pin-pusher vise), it really becomes a breeze (they are not as horrible as some might lead one to believe). In fact, I can see how they do contribute to a flexible, yet SOLID connection of links. Once compressed inside the collar, these pins will go NOWHERE. The bracelet is comfortable. The piece is a bit top-heavy (at almost 42 mm in diametre, with the thickness of Valjoux movement), however this is apparently what to expect with such a chronograph movement. The movement started out a bit slow per day, but now a week in, it is really running spot-on (within COSC specs, not required for this piece). Very recommended!
