An indication of a bygone age
Interesting to see these stories again, after so many years. The storylines are fairly simple by current standards and the artwork is as expected for the Silver Age. Perhaps the most significant aspect is how much of the content shows and reflects the expected ordinary lives of the population at the time. including a number of attitudes which have changed significantly over the years-as well as a trremendous change to everyday technology which most people now take for granted.

Instant nostalgia!
Very pleased to recquaint myself with many 'origin' stories which I first encountered nearly 60 years ago-some of which have been altered through films and TV series. The volume was as advertised and well-packaged. Some of the storylines are either simple or extremely far-fetched by today's standards but show just how amazing the minds were of the writers and artists, at a time when science fiction as a genre was still developing and not yet mainstream.

A great reminder of comic-book stories from my youth
Happy to have this volume, featuring stories originally purchased as individual DC comics just as i reached my teenage years . I have the same stories in a volume of the DC Showcase Presents series, but that's in black and white. The colours, vividly reproduced in this volume, in my view totally enhance the storylines. There was no English equivalent to the DC Comics at the time and these stories fed my own interest in space and science fiction, as Green Lantern often travelled throughout space. Inevitably these stories from the mid-60s contain many references to attitudes of the time, which seem strange and outdated 2 generations late, but these aspects do not usually detract from the stories themselves. The artwork style differs from that in modern DC Comics but I prefer the older sytle in this volume, with more detailed and complete backgrounds to the images,
