Carrera 30838 Digital Mercedes AMG C 63 DTM Paffett 1/32 Slot Car
This is the latest, greatest Mercedes AMG DTM racecar from Carrera. It is a beautiful metallic silver that has some white mixed in, for an almost aluminum sheen. The chassis has been upgraded, and improved, in a very important way, so as to make maintenance quick and easy, under the duress of competition, or any time. The last generation of Mercedes DTM racecar, required removal of the front light circuit board, and two screws retaining the front guide assembly in order to get the front axle out. This was not as good a design. One of the biggest problems in slot car racing, is hair or carpet fiber, getting wrapped up around the axles, and binding them, which can cause your car to slow down enough, to lose a race, and could eventually overheat and damage the motor if not corrected quickly. This latest, greatest Mercedes AMG DTM racecar design does not require you to remove anything to get the axles out of the chassis, once you have the body off. Of course for readers unfamiliar with Carrera slot cars, it runs on Analog or Digital, has functional head and tail lights, you can turn on or off, and fully functional brake lights. When you car runs out of “fuel” in realistic mode, the lights flash on and off, emergency flasher style, to let you know you need to get back to the pits to re-fuel. While I like most of the Carrera slot cars produced, GT3 and DTM cars are among my favorite, because of the lights, and fact that the front splitter and rear diffuser, protect the cars as bumpers, against damage from minor impacts, when for example, racing DTM cars, against other DTM cars, in competition. Considering the excellent detail and fine finishes, I like to keep my race cars in as good as shape as possible, and that feature helps a lot. Furthermore DTM cars have near identical performance capabilities, with almost identical wheelbases and center of gravity etc., which makes for extremely close competition between DTM cars. All in all, this Mercedes AMG DTM race car is another great Carrera slot car !!!
