Another positive ethereal mind journey!
I've been a fan of this band since I met the original line-up at Stonehenge free festival in 1981. Their ever changing members keep the music fresh and their creator Ed Wynne is astonishing with his guitar, synths and his creative mind. You won't find much in the way of singing/lyrics on their albums but this makes it all the more appealing as you don't have to listen to someone's point of view, which leaves a neutral feel and everything left to the listeners interpretation. They've released approx 35 albums over the years and it's really hard to pick a favourite, as they are all beautifully arranged and delivered. They are a genre to themselves with early influences stemming from the psychedelic music era inc, Steve Hillage and Gong particularly.
The 'Yum Yum Tree' is very typical of Ed's musical imaginings and doesn't disappoint. Like all the other works it takes the listener on a journey with the mind and always with a positive feel. From spacerock and jazz to reggae and world music there's something for everyone!
