Multi-input Surround sound, more than you expect.
This unit allows you to plug not just audio, but video inputs into it, making it the heart of a home entertainment system. Currently I route a DVR (Time Warner) unit, DVD Recorder, VCR unit and Wii Games console through it, and there are still spare inputs. You simply leave the TV on the input to which the surround sound unit is connected and use the unit to switch between audio and video. For example, select DVR - you get DVR audio and video, change to DVD and again you get DVD audio and video.
I added a set of 'proper' Hi-Fi speakers to the extra front speaker output, and they sound really nice. Full and well balanced. I just use my DVD as a CD player, but there are additional audio component inputs available (CD, Mini disc/CD-R, aux etc you could even plug in a Record deck if you still have one!), as well as two Optical digital inputs and a co-ax digital input, in addition to several RCA left and right inputs.
Overall a very good system.
Things I particularly liked: Component video inputs.
Optical and Co-ax digital inputs.
VCR/DVD recorder outputs.
The ability to watch video from one source while listening to audio from another.
Multi channel inputs (for external decoders).
The remote control allows you to access basic functions on the TV, and a DVD from the one remote, although for specialist features on those units you will need the original remote. TV on/off, channel, volume and mute (I never need the volume controls everything goes through the Yamaha). DVD play, pause, disk skip etc.
A 'night' setting, which seems to reduce the amount of Low Frequency to the sub bass, and generally reduces volume to cause less disturbance to other people in the house.
Inbuilt tuner seems very good, and with the supplied Aeriel's I am able to pick up stations I can't otherwise receive.
The not so great: No HDMI inputs or outputs. I got around this by plugging my DVD recorders optical output into to Yamaha unit, and running a HDMI cable direct from the DVD recorder to the flat screen TV.
The manual is very helpful with set-up, but could be clearer on the different programs and effects. It took me a while of trial and error to actually work it out, but now I have it's very good.
For an entry level/mid level unit this is an excellent piece of machinery. I recommend it.

Exact Fit
Delivered quickly and took only a couple of minutes to remove the existing filter and drop in the new one.
It fit perfectly and is considerably cheaper than an OEM part from Toyota. Product seems very well made and saved a lot of money - especially compared to having the dealership replace the part with their own product.
I highly recommend.
