Entertaining Ernie Carson Recording

Do you like Ernie Carson's playing? If so, you will enjoy this CD.The tracks create a good feeling. The players are solid. The clarinet player plays very much like Pee Wee Russell. While not everyone likes that style, the careless abandon displayed creates its own humor. If you like Ernie Carson's playing, it will carry you through this wonderful recording.

Fantastic Variety

The concert of Chris Botti in Boston is very enjoyable and compelling for a few reasons: the filming technique of having images transposed over one another at times and of having one image fade away as another appears. the lighting is also nice because it has the quality of being not too bright and earthy in tone. The DVD version I have comes with two audio selections: stereo and surround sound. After listening to the concert once in each, I found a significant difference, but only in the trumpet. With the surround sound, the trumpet had a more laid back quality that matched the other instruments. With stereo sound, the trumpet is more prominent and full in sound over the other instruments, and I preferred the stereo sound for this reason. The music venues vary from classic jazz, classical music, big band, and even rock. I will continue to revisit this wonderful musical gathering, and highly recommend it to music lovers.
