Huawei W1 Watch Stainless Steel Link - Silver
17 March 2017
This is the one you have been looking for
I spent a long time researching Android watches, flip flopped between several models before coming to the conclusion of this one. It has IMO the nicest looking design out of all the watches on the market currently, balancing sleek construction with classic looks while still looking bold and impressive. It doesn't have the 'flat tyre' effect that many of it's competitors suffer from. The real sapphire crystal is a huge advantage over it's competitors. Thus far I have several small scratches on the stainless steel bezel from just day to day use (no more than would be expected), but the screen is still showroom quality. I can get 2.5-3 days out of my battery with average usage, and even under intense usage, can still make it to the bedtime of day 2 no sweat. I charge mine every second day so I'm never trying to sacrifice usability of battery time. Setup with my Galaxy S5 was a breeze and it worked straight out of the box, after a few updates. I was in two minds about getting an Android watch, unsure of how much I would actually use it, but I have found it invaluable and a great time saver. Some of the most useful apps though, were not ones that I even considered before buying. The calculator, currency converter and flashlight would by 3 of my top used apps, followed by Google Maps Navigation and Rewardle. Don't think of it as a 'small phone on your arm', think of it as an extension of your existing phone that allows you to screen calls, emails, messages and other notifications without getting your phone out. Has helped my phone battery last longer because it spends longer with the screen off. Lacks a built in GPS, NFC support and GMS (sim card) capability. However honestly I don't miss or want for these features. I feel like a built in GPS would just hinder battery life, as would GSM capability, while NFC is of little to no use to me as my bank currently doesn't support mobile payment options. Overall, if someone came to me right now and asked me which smartwatch to buy, my answer would still be this one.
