Growing much of what you eat!
A great book for the beginner or even a competent green fingered gardener. Well illustrated and very readable.
We were fortunate to meet Rekha in Derbyshire, and she was good enough to sign our copy!

A very capable modern Bible version, keeping the sense without trendiness.
I have heard people say that the King James (Authorised Version) Bible is difficult to read, as it is written in a translation from the original Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew into Shakespearian English. I have read the King James version many times, and enjoy the beauty and the patterns to be found in the work of teams of hard working scholars many years ago. However if someone is coming to the Bible seeking God, but without a background in 16th. century English, than I can only but recommend the ESV (English Standard Version). It is a very capable modern version without any attempt at being trendy, and is easily picked up and dipped into, and yet it keeps the sense that the writers and God intended.

The Best Book in the World
1 of 1 found this helpful Here we have the Bible, which in many places claims to be the word of God, and as the creator tells us, mankind needs redemption from sin, inherited from Adam and Eve. Anyone reading this will understand that through Jesus the Son of God, mankind is offered resurrection from the grave to a place in his kingdom to come. Remember the Lords prayer? "Thy Kingdom come, The will be done on earth..." Buy a copy of the Bible and find out why I think it is The Best Book In The World.
