Learn our history (and have fun doing so)
McCullough is an excellent biographer. He tells the story completely, with the necessary background information, and beautifully entertains while doing so. Americans for the most part do not know our own history, and this will be to our great demise if we do not learn it. Pre-revolutionary American history is much lacking in our current education system (as is revolutionary and Constitutional history). Adams' biography is a great way to learn this, in unbiased and honest and fun fashion.

Great bio!
I grew up in middle class suburbia and was educated by our wonderful public education system primarily during the 1970's. And I had no knowledge of President Truman, the Korean War, the post-depression years, and the impact of decisions made between the 1920's and the 1950's on the 1970's and beyond.
This education system that failed to teach me the history of 20-30 years before me is now in much more drastic state. Please educate yourselves and your children through books like this one! You will ENJOY it! McCullough weaves the story with excellence.
