Connie and Clyde
CONNIE AND CLYDE was the original title of this album when it was released. The LP release coincided with the release of the Motion Picture BONNIE AND CLYDE, hence the title. CONNIE no longer dominated the charts as she had in the late fifties and early sixties. Nobody lasts forever and the public is always on the lookout for something new. Nontheless, Connie is in fine for here under the direction of Don Costa. On BROTHER CAN YOU SPARE A DIME she sounds a lot like Barbra Streisand (intentionally, I'm sure. Barbra was by this time dominating the charts and had also recorded a truncated version of this oldie.). On YOU OUGHT TO BE I. PICTURES Connie starts out sounding like Shirley Temple but finishes as Connie. Don Costa also used this gimmick on EYDIE GORME VAMPS THE ROARING TWENTIES. It wears thin pretty quickly. My favorite track and the reason I bought this CD is SOMEBODY ELSE IS TAKING MY PLACE. It's my favorite track and my primary reason for this purchase. ALL in all, this is a great CD of hard to find Vintage Standards. Recommended!

Merry Merry Christmas Baby.
The title I quote is a rare track from Dodie Stevens that has never been on any of her LPs (or CDs). I bought this CD for that one track and am delighted to find songs like Brenda Lee's "Rockin' around the Christmas tree" and many other Christmas Hits by Legendary Rock and Roll artists. The CD is brand new still in shrink wrap and the price was about as low as one could go. I love it. Thanks.

Is the conspiracy theory true?
There is a great deal of controversy about this film. It suggests that an elaborate plot was concocted to assassinate JFK and it was successful. I can't say whether the theory is true or not but this is nonetheless an engaging, even compelling mystery story and therefore, a must see movie.
