Questionable readings...
If working on tube amps I'd pass on this item:
1 - It consistently reads capacitancea little lower than my other meters, including my Fluke 87.
2 - The ESR reading itself is suspect, I tested a 50 year old electrolytic filter cap from a silvertone amp and it read in an ESR of 0.34 Ohms.. which is suspect considering this cap is clearly deteriorated to the point of shedding dried up dielectric.
So, I don't really trust this meter to give me much useful insight, and that's my experience with it.

Fantastic Vintage Microphone Sound
You won't get the crisp clear highs through this thing (like modern day condensers) but the mid range and bass response is open, warm and very accurate to the source. Feels like I'm taking tracks off tape with this microphone. So far I have tested it on Kick drum, acoustic guitar, guitar amps and vocals. It definitely sounds great on all of these and produces a lovely usable sound! Extremely versatile microphone.
Things to keep in mind:
- For quiet sources you need a pretty powerful preamp
- Does have a noise floor (every so slightly noticeable but not overpowering in anyway)
