Standard Foundation
I have used this text in the past as an required material for a Buddhist course. I am back to it as a reference to the copious resources in Buddhology. The content contains mainly excrepts from various classical and modern manuscripts. Like other academic tome, it fuses short excrept to fit the context of the author’s intention. For those who are familiar with Buddhist studies, this text is a fundamental discourse for mostly beginner as the author outlines the general perspicacity of Buddhology in this text.
This text is requisite for those who wants a foundational comprehension of Buddhology.

Lucid Reading
2 of 2 found this helpful Zen Buddhism has inspired some of the greatest philosophical texts of any religion. Two works lie at the center of Zen: The Heart Sutra, which monks recite all over the world, and The Diamond Sutra, said to contain answers to all questions of delusion and dualism. This is the Buddhist teaching on the "perfection of wisdom" or prajnaparamita and the diamond of its title is said to cut through everything on its way to enlightenment. It is perhaps the most studied of all the sutras, and by one count more than twenty thousand commentaries are noted.
What made this edition unique to the buyer has to be its lucidity. Its clarity and sensitivity are highly regarded for the general readers, especially beginners. Red Pine's background on Buddhist studies is outstanding. Since each author has a particular reader in mind, certain aspects of this texts offers a rich and comprehensive knowledge of the text. Besides the translation and commentary to the translation, the author offers a glimpse of his personal endeavor in pursuing the meaning of the Diamond Sutra or The Vajracchedika-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra. The author also provide a brief historical account of the discovery and the archaic texts to which he consulted to compile this translation.

Not worth it for these prices
1 of 5 found this helpful One of the nice things about buying online is that you can read all the reviews prior to making a purchase. At most time, consumers will buy a product based solely on their emotions. These Beats Headphones are marketed to the consumers with name recognition but this is one of the worst products for its price. Read all the reviews on Amazon and eBay to realize that this product only last a few months before it breaks, definitely not expected from a $200-300 product that suppose to have great durable quality besides the sound. The sound is not worth it but the product doesn't last very long. I'm better off staying with my $30 headphone and when it breaks, I just buy a new one.
