Verbatim BD-R XL 100GB 4X White Inkjet/Hub Printable - 10pk Spindle
28 March 2017
Best budget Triple Layer BD-R
It is a good value, considering the capacity. Not as good value per GB compared to 25 pack of 50 GB, but for less physical storage space if you have space constraints in your room, for instance, this is a very nice deal. If you have an inkjet printer to label the discs, I would say be careful, as the printer may scratch the disc. Definitely do not print until after you have burned the disc. Verbatim is one of the only manufacturers with this capacity in spindle pack, and even though there may be others, like Panasonic, the prices are a lot higher and may not be ideal for budget-minded backup-goers. Highly recommended.
Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Stereo Turntable System-Refurbished
01 September 2017
Good for general listening and not fussy setup
For the money, the AT-LP60 is better than some of the cheaper fare with ceramic cartridges, but keep in mind, the sound quality is not good for audiophiles. If you are not mastering your records to the level expected from reissued albums (which they probably use turntables costing thousands of dollars, which I would recommend for that purpose anyhow), this unit is very easy to setup. It may skip on some records without the anti-skating and counterweight controls. Just a fun, lightweight unit that gives you good enough sound reproduction that you may be better off dubbing to a cassette tape instead of digital format (the analog format deals with distortion better as opposed to gritty, digital-anemia). I recommend this unit for the purpose it is marketed to, but keep in mind that the upgrade to the needle bundled with the unit is actually worse. There is a reason why a certain cartridge comes with a certain needle by the manufacturer. This is not one of those models where a cartridge and headshell swap is possible, as units with that feature cost hundreds of dollars. Good luck, just do not move this around too much, as there is no armrest to lock the tonearm down. Also, all-plastic (except the super-light aluminum tonearm and platter), and so the unit is flimsy and can easily be broken. It is not even LEGO-quality plastic, so the very low price won't break your foot if dropped either. There are pluses and minuses with these kinds of devices in the first world.

Wireless Keyboard And Mouse Combo Set 2.4G For Mac Apple Pc Silver Full Size
02 January 2018
Not made by Apple but pretty good
Looks and feels like the actual Apple Keyboard and Mouse you would expect, but there are a few minor problems, which is probably why this is geared more for PC than for Apple. The FN key and Ctrl keys should be swapped, so was probably a design decision flaw. The Num Lock and Scroll Lock lights do not work, but the Caps Lock light does (turns orange when in use). Mouse feels a bit cheaper quality and lighter than the Apple Mouse, but its ergonomics are a little better, and the mouse turns off after a few minutes, saving battery, which I do not think the Apple Mouse does. Multimedia features (the symbols below each F key at the top row) do not function or unsupported by iTunes, Mac OS X, and so forth. Will not change volume level, go to next song, etc. that you can do with keyboards meant to be used with Windows-based systems. For some of the functions not recognized and nonstandard placement of some keys, this is a four-star product. Maybe 4.5 stars when used on a computer running Windows (not talking running Windows in a virtual system on Mac). Not Bluetooth capable, so you have to use the included dongle, which is proprietary. If it gets lost, the keyboard and mouse will be useless. In spite of its minor flaws, this is a cheaper alternative because I think that the Apple Keyboard and Mouse are a bit too pricey for what they are.
