Best documentary I've ever seen

I first saw this series this in the early 90s with my Dad as he felt it was important for me to watch, even now this holds up well to the test of time. It's an absolutely incredible resource because it contains first hand eye witness accounts and, as it was made comparatively close to the event, it captures peoples feelings towards the conflict while still relatively fresh. Bearing this in mind both the narrative and interviews used are fair and balanced with the purpose being to understand rather than judge or condemn, even if some aspects are hard to watch. There were subjects they couldn't cover in the 70s when this was made, Bletchley Park for example was still subject to official secrets, but this box set has further episodes to allow them to cover these topics. An absolute classic that will always be relevant.
