More durable plastic than original?

This was a direct replacement for my 11 year old vacuum breaker. The original was clear plastic, and it had cracked. The new version is made of an opaque white plastic. I hope it will last forever. The original water fill hose (and optional hand-sprayer hose, if so equipped) must be removed from the old vacuum breaker then reinstalled. Unfortunately, 11 year old hoses have stiffened and were difficult to remove over the barbed fitting. You will probably succeed if you heat the hose thoroughly near the fittings with a hairdryer or similar. I didn't heat the hoses, and the barbed fitting damaged the hose ends. I chose to replace the damaged fill hose with reinforced vinyl hose from a big box home improvement store ($1.97 for the 12" I needed). I cut 1/2" from the end of the hand-sprayer hose to lose the damaged end. Good luck.

Great Value. Great Optics.

I spent several hours reading about binoculars and optics online before I began shopping. Then, I spent many hours comparing choices before selecting this pair. These Legacy 8 x 42 binoculars satisfied all my needs. On a clear day, I can see forever! Quality seems top-notch for the money. Time will tell whether there are any weak-link parts, but I expect them to last me a lifetime in casual use. Based on this buying experience, I'm planning to buy a different style, mid-sized (8 x 32) Bushnell set for my son.
