Wonderful Music Famous Celebrities help survive this
This DVD fails in comparison to the original. This DVD focuses on the process of combining the animation to the music. The original Fantasia focuses on (1)Absolute Music (2)Music that Paints a Picture and (3)Music that tells a Story. The modern Fantasia seemed rushed, from the animation to the timing of the music to the animation. Honestly, the use of big name celebrities does not make this Fantasia worth it's name because the essense of the music and the art is overlooked. The music performance is LOUD. Why use only one movement on Beethoven's 5th? The commentary focuses on the creation of the animation rather than the music. Fantasia was about making the music come alive through art. Fantasia 2000 seems to be about animation and using music in the background.

Children must see and experiece this film ! ! ! !
Fantasia IS one of the best movies ever made. I use this as a teaching aid to help my students hear and see the music. Children will be able to apreciate classical music more. More importantly, children's attention span will widen by experiencing this film. From absolute music of Bach to the modren music of Stravinsky, Children will experience how music inspires the creative mind. Adults should watch this film again and again to undrestand how the artist composed their work in association with the music. Hint . . . NO Sound Effects, just music and visual art. Music Videos do not achieve the benefits, educational and entertainment and more, that Fantasia has to offer.

Excellent DVD for All Ages
This DVD will help children and adults appreciate music to a higher leve.
Using simple objects in a musical setting is ingenious.
Timbre of simple objects gives color to complex rhythms.
Awesome all the way from begining to end.
