hp - 32sii Calculator Brand New Sealed with Manual and Case
15 June 2013
IT REALLY IS THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have bought a few more spares. The HP 32SII really is the best true calculator that HP has ever designed/manufactured. As I stated in previous reviews, it is not the most powerful, but it is one of the most useful and versatile calculators in a modern context. What I mean by that is that Engineers today do not really require the over abundance of functions that the more powerful units possess. What we need is versatility, ease of use, and enough functionality to be effective when we are not sitting at our desks, where there would likely be desktop access to tools like MATHCAD, MATLAB, etc. When I am away from my desk and in a lab or meeting I have found that the HP 32SII always has what I need to quick calculations and simple yet very useful programming tasks (and its programmability is GREAT by the way!). The physical design is superb, and the calculator is simply beautiful. It has become part of who I am as an Engineer, and it actually transpires confidence (as another author once wrote, and I agree). I consider this unit forever relevant, forever great, and a testament to the awesome status that HP once had as the King of manufacturing calculators for REAL ENGINEERS!!!! ************************************************************************************************************** I have used a number of hp models: HP 48GX - super powerful, but not so easy to use HP 48G - the non-expandable version of the HP 48GX, has less internal memory HP 42S - IMHO the best scientific calculator HP 15C - Great but I must say over-rated, certainly not as good as its descendent, the HP 42S HP 41CV - the best keyboard of all, a very powerful machine with augmented with application modules (like the advantage pac). Without modules like this, its power is a bit on the modest side. HP 41CVX - a slightly beefed up version of the HP 41CV, and it has a clock HP 32Sii - Not as powerful as some other units that I have listed, but one of the best designed calculators and is extremely easy to use. I find that it has the best overall "feel." It supports complex numbers but not as completely as some other models like the HP 42S, HP 15C, or the HP 48GX. However, I still find its complex number support quite useful. So, the HP 32Sii is easy to use, is very powerful, is very well designed, and is quite useable for daily engineering tasks. I love this unit.

HP-48GX Hewlett Packard Calculator HP 48GX

Awesome power, the ultimate in HP calcs
As of 10-03-2017: Enough cannot be said about this unit. It is the pinnacle of calculator greatness. The physical design is superb, and the function set is complete. Given the immense power of this unit it is still quite easy to use. The HP 50G may be more capable, but I find the HP 48GX more useful, and it still has all of the power I shall ever need. Guys, there is a reason that this calculator, along with the previous HP 41 series greats, was considered mission critical for NASA missions. This also speaks volumes regarding the reliability of this unit. The HP 48GX is an achievement of Human Engineering, and it has inspired other feats of Engineering as it has served as a powerful problem solving tool time and time again. ********************************************************************************************************** I have used a numbe of HP calculators, which I shall list in chronological order from earliest experience to the most recent: HP 41CV (an established legend) HP 42S (perhaps the most revered non-graphic hp calculator) HP 32SII (a solid work horse, very usable) HP 48G (immensely powerful) HP 48SX (another classic) HP 48GX (the pinnacle of raw calc power) HP 35S (nice tool, but keyboard quality issue, other could be a candidate for a future legend) HP 15C LIMITED EDITION (great calc, holds true to the original) HP 48GX (my latest purchase on EBAY) I think that all of the units were great and set HP apart from any other calculator manufacturer by far. I have used the 42s and 32sii models more than any other of the above. The 42s was my primary go to unit before I mistakenly thought that it had stopped functioning. I then went to the 32sii and the 48GX, which I used during Grad School. I found myself a little intimidated by the 48GX at one point. With great power comes a steep learning curve one might say :) However, I have recommitted myself to mastering it, and what a tool. For an Electrical Engineer this tool is awesome, in part because of its ability to easily and conveniently handle complex numbers, which is a key point for those of us who deal with microwave circuits. The object oriented programming takes a little getting used to, but it is way more powerful and efficient than the keystroke programming found on the 41CV, 42S, 32SII, and other units. The expandability is something else about the machine about which I have become more appreciative. I brought the EE Pro and SPICE48 pacs a while ago, and I do find them useful on occasion. To sum it up, the 48GX is the Electrical Engineers dream tool, and this puppy will never go out of style.

New HP 32Sll RPN Scientific Calculator New In Box

A most reliable work horse
I have written a couple of other reviews regarding for product. It has been my primary go to unit for almost two decades despite the fact that I own a host of other HP greats. It is not the most powerful unit, but it is still very powerful, very useful, and very relevant today. The HP 32SII is perhaps the most comfortable unit that I have ever owned, it is very portable such that it can easily be taken from meeting to meeting, it is easy to program, and its boasts over 100 functions for "Engineering Professionals." The unit does support complex numbers but it does so not as seamlessly as units like the HP 42S, HP 15C, HP 48GX, and the HP 50G. However, I do find the complex number support of the HP 32SII VERY useful. And note that the complex number support of the HP 32SII is very similar to what was found on the Advantage pack module for the HP 41C series calculators. The HP 32SII is a timeless classic and a very good example of product quality.
