A different Maigret - Simenon’s preferred actor.
So sat I am up to disc 4 of 14. The series was made in 1960s, so black and white, but short and punchy.
I have seen previously multiple versions of some of the episodes with Michael Gambon etc. but others are new to me or have a different take on the story.
Usually the supporting actors for each episode are well cast, the continuity is usually good - some hilarious exceptions aside - and the scenes of Paris from that time are wonderful. Much less crowded than I experienced 20 years later and since.
The quality of the DVD vision and sound is good considering the age, the jewel case is as compact as possible for 14 discs.
Recommended.
