Santorum's view of the role of the Family in America.
To many, former PA Senator Rick Santorum is an over-the-top conservative. However, this book describes a virtue which many have lost: the role of the family in America. Santorum argues that "the key to building capital...is fostering the formation, stability, and success of the traditional family(pp 10)". He breaks this 'capital' into five categories: social, economic, moral, cultural, and intellectual.
With Santorum running for the 2012 GOP presidentail nomination, this book is a must-read for those who are unsure of what he actually stands for.
Senator Santorum's position of increasing the wellbeing of families in America is an interesting theory that is worth the read.
Although written a few years before the downturn in the economy, and statistics are a few years outdated, Santorum's views remain the same, and the arguments remains intact.
it seems this book is almost written in contrast to Hillary Rodham Clinton's "It Takes A Village", which Santorum references numerous times.
