The Bissell Pro-Heat stands the test!!
I bought this smaller, portable steam cleaner because the one that I already have is a large, stand-up vacuum type and I find it hard to get into certain places. Even though my stand-up one has a hand-held attachment with a hose, it doesn't work very well. So I bought the Bissell with high-hopes and I was very pleased. I first tested it out on the landing of two different stairs in my home. My puppies love to pee on the landing for some reason and it is quite stinky. I felt like the Bissell did a great job not just in removing dirt stains from the landing but also in getting the pee smell out.
So then I stepped it up a notch and tried the Bissell on the behemoth of tasks I had envisioned for the Bissell,,,,,my daughter's car. See, her dad bought the car from Carvana and we did not realize until we had the car for a bit that the strong smell in the car was because a smoker had previously owned the car. Carvana heavily scented the car in an effort to get rid of the smoke smell. But you could still smell the smoke and the scented spray on top of it. I think her dad thought we'd just clean it and it would be fine. Anyway, I spent 3 days with my Bissell in that car. It is great that the Bissell really shows you what is being vacuumed up. You can see it really well. I felt so good that I could see all the grime I was getting out of the car. I feel like the Bissell made a huge difference in the smell of the car interior. It was a very satisfying feeling. Definitely feel that I got my money's worth and then some out of the purchase.
Now, here are the couple of things I wish were a little different. I wish the hose was longer, but I don't really see how they could do that. I also wish the clear plastic cover of the suction arm came off for cleaning. It's not the end of the world thought because with a toothpick and running the head under the faucet, you can clean it sufficiently.
Things I really like about it: The wastewater tank is REALLY easy to remove and pour out. Lots easier than my stand-up unit. The clean water fill container is very easy to use as well and just snaps into place. I also LOVE that there is a red button that causes the unit to HEAT the water for the sprayer. My stand up unit does not have that. Keeping that water warm is a great feature. This unit is fairly lightweight and easy to carry. I love that because my stand-up unit is so bulky and awkward to carry up and down stairs.
So I think the Bissell Pro-Heath was a great purchase. It's so much easier for me to use than my stand-up unit. I do not regret purchasing this unit for one second. I highly recommend this product to anyone.
