Wartime at Woolworths By Elaine Everest

if you like historical books set in the war years you will enjoy this series.

purchased book 2 in this series from a charity shop and wanted to have all the books in this series. A story set in the second world war of people who work in a Woolworths store.

An excellent film well worth a look .

My daughter asked for the DVD for Christmas after reading the book and suggested I would like it too. So got a copy of the book and couldn't put it down! So just had to get a copy of the film. I feel the film does the book justice. The film is set in a era we can't really relate to with how people are treated. This film is deeply moving with some excellent comedy moments too! Warning though it might put you off Chocolate cake for life ;O)
