An underappreciated gem
1 of 1 found this helpful Extremely good in the original Italian, not nearly so good in the English dubbing. Follows Collodi's story and is therefore far darker and metaphoric than the (also delightful) Disney version. Some Americans complain that he doesn't look like a puppet, or a little boy, but a) it's a Benigni vehicle (which should certainly be answer enough) and b) exercise a little imagination, can't you?
