This train is absolutely beautiful. It was exactly as described and yet even better than described. I was able to get it at a great price. It was packed really well and the seller gave me combined shipping on both of the items I purchased. So yeah I'm lovin it.

Märklin #6646 32 Watt Transformer for H.O. & Maxi One Gauge - Used VG-EX
03 April 2020
Solid performer overall
I've been using this model transformer for 20 years. They're not quite as rugged as the older blue series, but they are very necessary if you are operating Marklin locomotives containing modern day electronics as the circuitry protects them.
These Lionel MPC-era locomotives offer sharp graphics, brilliant colors, and smooth-running motors. The key selling point of these units is that they are simply made and are rugged-as-heck when it comes to construction. As such, they can easily last for generations with proper care and basic maintenance. The important thing to remember, and perhaps the only drawback with a majority of these 1970s / 1980s vintage Lionel locomotives is that they were designed to pull the lighter-weight freight cars made during that time (MPC), and NOT the heavy metal ones of the 1950s and earlier, UNLESS you run multiple powered units together. Because these single motors don't draw as much juice as their heavier 1950s ancestors, you can run multiple powered units without overloading the transformer. Buy, enjoy, and preserve this fascinating version of Lionel!
