Handy information for gardening on clay soil.

Great if NOT living on clay soil.
Great book to encourage wildlife friendly, more naturalistic gardening. However, a revised edition is certainly called for (1st published 1996) that includes a chapter dedicated to soil types. The briefest of mentions of difficult clay soil was FAR too sparse in trying to embrace his overriding message / ethos.
I desperately need an offshoot book in creating these types of garden purely on bloody clay soil. How do I avoid having to always add plenty of horticultural grit to hopefully give a plant a fair chance?!
