Better cord the some others and does the job.
I had a older version of this, much older Radio Shack brand and the heating element went out, I found a iron on line that had a similar shape and end screws was able to adapt it to my desoldering tool parts and used it for a while, but it had a very thin power cord. This one ECG/NTE model I used on a old circuit and it worked well. On a side note still need to watch how long this iron or other iron is on a transistor leg. Transistors don't do well under this kind of heat, but you also need the heat to melt the solder especially the newer no lead solder.

I have been looking for this part for a Williams branded end passenger car, Madison type and this one matches just fine even though it is made for a Lionel.

Little but mighty...
This is a bit smaller then I expected but it is a hearty cast iron engine with the sound of the bell and the whistle electronics all contained in the engine unit, as well it is a great smoker too.
