Shimano SLX hold up fine at a budget price.
You really don't have much choice if you ride a 1x11 and have SLX brakes. Shimano makes this stuff work only with itself. Otherwise, you'll have to buy all new brakes and gears. $$$ I would have upgraded to XT shifter if I could, but SLX works fine for about a year.
