Great addition to the Kestrel 4000 series
Works perfectly as intended. Easy setup. If you want to monitor wind speed and direction this is the accessory you need.

5 of 5 found this helpful This tripod provides a sturdy and stable mount for my 3 pound spotting scope. The one hand pan/tilt and position lock works great for quick target acquisition. The quick release mounting plate (one is included and I purchased an additional one from Vortex for $9.99) is well made an locks up with no noticeable play. If there is any possible weak component it is the plastic locking lever for the quick release plate, as mine was broken during shipping. I called Vortex and they immediately sent me a replacement. Vortex unconditional warranty.
