Much higher build quality than Dorman. Easy to install.
Purchased this for my 1998 Buick LeSabre with a GM 3800 Series II V6 engine. Fits perfectly as far as I can tell. Followed the instructions for torquing it onto the manifold, had no issues with cracking or anything catastrophic. No apparent leaks after starting the engine and driving around town.
One thing to be careful with is torquing the air intake control valve back onto the side of the plastic manifold. The instructions in the kit do not tell you the torque specifications for this. There are websites on the internet that tell you to torque it to 18 ft lbs. This is completely incorrect. You should use a low torque setting like 10 N*m. I snapped one of the built-in bolts off of the upper manifold. Fortunately I had the old bolts in the old manifold that worked fine and could be removed and easily installed into the ATP one.
The build quality of this is so much better than the Dorman equivalent. I previously bought a Dorman but returned it because the plastic mold wasn't even flat on the gasket mating surface. The ATP manifold is much higher quality. And the built-in metal sleeve for the hot exhaust gases seriously reduces my worries of damaging the plastic. (There was previously a Dorman on my engine, and it was cracked and melted around the metal tube).
