8 Pin Female MIC Plug
The black plastic 8-pin female piece of this plug is threaded. That's right; no set screw. So, make sure you slip the chrome shroud/shield piece of the plug onto the mic cord first and leave the two screws that grab the cord loose. This will allow you to solder the cord wires to the contacts in the black plastic piece ... and once cooled, you can carefully screw the chrome shielding piece onto the black plastic piece and then tighten the screws at the end of the chrome piece for a fine finish. I hope this helps.
