Needs working-in
It looks like the original and installed easily, but the keys need to be struck dead-center and it’s noisier than the original keyboard. The power button failed on the original keyboard so I had to replace it, but it mat take some pounding before I can love it enough to give 5 stars!

Better film than American critics claimed
The film covers at least 25 years of French rule of Indochina, and it isn’t clear until the end that DeNeuve’s VO is addressed to a specific character in the film. It’s often described as a romance scripted against a political background, but even the romance has gender politics at its core. The lead characters in the love-triangle are beautiful, and there are a lot of subtle thematic touches in colors (reds, greens, blacks—like the black and white costumes DeNeuve wears in the 2 scenes before Vincent Perez appears in his black-trimmed white naval uniform. Both have complete reversals of their values when they fall in love. It’s a film that has relevance to world politics today, and sticks in your mind for a long time.

Quality counts
To carry a small notebook everywhere for a year, you need one that is ruggedly constructed, that stays closed, has no corners or edges that snag the edges or insides of pockets, that has a spine that opens and closes flat. This is that notebook. I haven't been without one in decades.
