Embrace the light guage strings!
I needed a set of strings for a bass project that involves a lot of slapping, popping and general acrobatics so I decided to give these a try based on online reviews. I must admit I was skeptical, but for $17 I figured what the hell and went for it. What a pleasant surprise! Yes they are perfect for slap / pop as advertised, but I was really surprised at the tone they have for all types of playing. You will have to use a light touch for fingerstyle or pick playing, which I don't find to be a negative, just different. I don't think I would use these as my main string for straight fingerstyle, but if I had to pick a string to cover everything these would be hard to beat. Trust an eternal skeptic - these strings are excellent!
