Excellent product that should provide many year's worth of video-making.
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this as my first high-definition camcorder. I own and I'm familiar with Panasonic's standard-definition camcorder, the AG-DVX100b. This made learning the HPX170 much easier. However, there's still a good learning curve to meet (at least for me). The picture and audio quality is excellent. It uses the P2 cards. The P2 format is stable and is recognizable with my video-editing programs. The downside is that the P2 cards are very expensive.
