A great book that was both educational and entertaining
2 of 3 found this helpful Are you looking foe information to help you and your loved ones survive armegedon or a world wide catastrophy? (Please overlook the spelling errors if you will, I'm typing in a car at the moment.) Back to SURVIVORS. I am also a retired CI Agent in the US Army and what this book has to offer is very good, consise but a little short. What he is attempting to do is educate the reader in an entertaining way that hits the mark. My only complaint is that he didn't add an additional two to three hundred more pages as there is so much more information that needs to be disseminated out into the survival community and also I'd like to have read more about what happened to the characters in the story. James' work is so entertaining that I found myself reading this book twice in four days which I have never been able to do before this, nor wanted to until now. His characters and the situations they find themselves in are richly written and are both viable and believable. Take it from a soldier/CI Agent who has found himself in a few situations much like those in this story; they can and will happen when civilization falters and all hell has broken loose. Where men and women, who are starving and have no governing institutions and there are no more existing law enforcement organizations to police a growing enviroment of lawlessness and barbarism. You can find yourself in just this type of enviroment in the world we live in today in some parts of this world, and an even worst one if what transpired in this book or something like it would ever happen to our whole planet. What James Westley, Rawles has given you a glimpse of in SURVIVORS is a gift to those who think that this type of situation can either never happen and will find themselves and their loved ones ill prepared for such a nightmare or are the type of person who is of the vigilant personality type, who is not a psycho-survivalist stereotype, but who is propelled to ensure that he /she and their loved ones are prepared for any type of governmental or enviromental emergency that has happened every so often throughout the history of our planet and the many civilizations that have come and gone from the very beginning of our known history.
Thank you James Westley, Rawles for writting this book and I hope there are many more works in the mill that you will share with us to help those of us who are in need of this educational material that I hope to God we will never need but will have it available to us if the need arises in our life time.
