in conclusion this is an awesome AM3 board for the price.
1 of 1 found this helpful i bought this board to unlock a 960t phenom ii to an x6. it works wonders. not only was i able to unlock it to x6, but this board keeps it very cool at 3.5 ghz with a cooler master v8 cooler. also, the north and south bridge also stay cool with the overclock and unlock. asus lists this board in their xtreme series, and they sure mean it. i could push this chip a lot more with this board but i dont want to. if you overclock too much you lose stability and risk burning it out.
this board has integrated graphics with hdmi, dvi, and vga inputs. you can also run 2 monitors off of the dvi and vga at the same time for a dual desktop setup, a nice feature.
board has 8 usb2.0 ports (4 rear panel, 4 internal), 5.1 surround sound, 1 esata 2 port, 1 10/100/1000 rj45 ethernet port, 1 firewire port.
also, internally it has 1 Ide/Pata Connector, 1 serial, and 1 parallel header for those who need them (like me).
if you need a floppy drive you can just pick up an ls-120 IDE superdisk drive off of ebay for around $25. its good to note though that a lot of the "IDE" floppy drives for sale on ebay are actually connected through a 34 pin floppy connector and have nothing to do with 40 pin IDE. Theres no such thing as an adapter, so buyer beware. unless you buy an ls-120 you cant be sure what you are getting, and it wont work.
this also has spdif and front panel connectors for audio. Ill have to add though that the Built in audio on this board is Junk. Asus always used realtek audio chipsets wich were very good for onboard sound. For some reason theyve switched to Via sound on some of their new boards. I noticed it right away that the sound wasnt 1/3 as good as the realtek. It has a lot of noise and distortion and pops. This is one of the few negatives about this board.
Also it uses DDR3 up to 1600 (O.C.)
now on to what i dont like about this board.
No usb3.0 or sata III. Usb 3.0 is awesome for removable media it gets rid of the usb 2.0 bottleneck. for regular things like game controllers though you wont notice any difference over 2.0. Also, if you buy a fast sata 3 ssd like an ocz vertex 3 it will bottleneck on this sata II board and wont run as fast as it could.
and simply put, this board has too many Regular Pci slots. Pci is on the way out and these 3 slots are empty on my setup.
I did however use them to mount a 4 port usb bracket, a serial/parallel bracket, and an esata bracket. so that is another option to consider if you need these extra ports on the back. its ashame though that they would otherwise sit empty unless you still have a bunch of pci cards your using.
in conclusion this is an awesome AM3 board for the price.

GNR lies
This cd is not the best Guns N roses cd. Not hardly. But there are a few gems on it.
Used to love her is worth buying the cd for. the rest isnt.
also there is a song called one in a million on it that stirred up quite a lot of controversy when it was released. its worth a listen just to hear what the outrage was about, although its not a very good song.
I give this a 4 out of a possible 10.
unless you are a total Gnr fanatic, skip this one and buy appetite for destruction, or the use your illusions 1 and 2. these are their finest works.

awesome 2d shooter for ps2
if anyone was a fan of raiden fighters in the arcades, or the old playstation and saturn shooters, this game will be an instant hit with them.
