Can't even tell my laptop's on now, so quiet!!! :)
1 of 1 found this helpful Brilliant. Just make sure your laptop did not come with a graphics card. That model uses a different cooling fan with a heatsink attached. The fan's bearings are right on the heatsink so you wont be able to assemble this into the other model. However, if all you need is to replace the rotating portion of the fan, you can just get this and stick it in there (which is what I did). With a bit of lube, I can no longer hear the crackling.

Nice cheap upgrade
Replaced an old Dell 1420 chip (can't remember exactly, but it was a T5xxx) with this. Temperatures are now around 37-50C. The major performance boost I got was from upgrading to an SSD so didn't notice much of a change except it runs pretty cool and I can actually stream from YouTube (comfortably @ 720p but see lag @ 1080p).
