Ripping Yarns

The BBC adaptations of Henry VI (presented in two parts, not three) and Richard III produced filmicly but faithful to the spirit of the plays. I watched them end to end. These plays are so powerful they have come close to overwriting historical fact. Especially Richard III. But we shan't let that get in the way of a good story, shall we? And a good story it is.

Wobbly, but does the job

Bought to diagnose a charging issue in the car. Did the job well. Sometimes works loose and has to be pushed home. USB charging a bonus. Pretty happy with it on the whole.

A proper old-style drama documentary

My laserdisc player is on its last legs, and the vistas in this film are demanding of a much higher quality anyway, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to acquire it in UHD. A nail-biter, even though everybody knows what's going to happen in the end. The original is obviously shot on film, and you can see the grain in UHD, but the transfer is as good as could be expected. In the garden scene where they are looking up at the stars, you can see the stars!
