An enjoyable game to play!
8 of 10 found this helpful We love the Ratchet and Clank series of games. They're all high-quality, well-thought, and well-produced games. The latest, "Deadlocked", is no exception.
Deadlocked changes the tradional paradigm of the Ratchet series, in that you do not collect hidden bolts (like Gold bolts, Platinum bolts, etc.), and there is little or no "exploration and adventure" to the game.
You solve problems, fight off the baddies, and collect experience (a real plus held over from the previous games). You also have the new ability to choose overall difficulty level (like "Couch Potato" or "Exterminator"). This can be changed at any time by loading a saved game and making a choice. This is a nice feature for families (like ours) who have gamers of diverse ability.
Overall, it is a great game - a worthy addition to the franchise. The animated cartoon violence is no more or less that previous games, there is no profanity (not that I heard, anyway), and the character development story is interesting.
The commentary from the game's "announcers" can be annoying at times, but can be turned off ("Juanita, since Ratchet is a tough cookie, I wonder what kind of cookie he would be? I'm going with Snickerdoodles." )
