As Serenity Approaches
Marcus Roberts plays really well. He's a very exact pianist - everything is is perfect order. I'm not overly fond of this c d as I'm not that connected to the style of jazz it is. So far as stride piano and the other styles he plays on the cd goes it is excellent - he plays this stuff really well. I prefer his solos with Winton Marcellus in Marcellus's band - his version of 'East of the Sun' is outstanding. I think I'll try Roberts playing more modern jazz next time round.

D'Angelo and the Vanguard Black Messiah
This is a great cd. I really like D'Angelo - there's nobody else like him. This cd is great to listen to or just to have in the background. Very cool.
