I've literally used this for DECADES!

Perfect the first time out!

I purchased the New Balance 412 Trail Running Shoe for walking on country roads, and for that purpose, they're great. The sizing is perfect in my normal size (9 1/2 wide - mine are D), with an ample toe box. The heel grips nicely with no slippage. I have tailor's bunions, which are nicely accommodated by these shoes - no pain at all. They're cushioned in all the right places, have adequate arch support, and an attractive price point for a trail shoe. I had my doubts, as I usually purchase shoes that are much more expensive than these were - but they're perfect for my needs.
