Explains the content succinctly
True story and not being an Aussie I had not heard of it before.
I also bought the book They Crossed a Continent written by Margaret Sommerville who died at 101 years in 2014 and who was the missionary who lead them back to the mainland .
Ms Somerville was the first Australian woman to be presented with the Battle of Australia medallion, in 1991 for her part in this. They had been told by authorities to leave the children on the Island to fend for themselves.

Francine Rivers does it again
Great series and have thoroughly enjoyed the trip with the characters involved in their walk/discovery of our Lord and Saviour. Honest to the times and thinking.
Each book was hard to put down. Will stay on my book shelf to be reread again sometime.
