Excellent lens for wide angle and creative effects
The Canon f2.8 fisheye lens is a great addition to any camera bag and is very useful when a very wide scene must be captured, or for times when a creative effect is desired. Often an ordinary scene can be made interesting with the use of this little gem. The lens creates barrel distortion that gets more dramatic toward the top and bottom of the image, while the center of the image and the middle of the frame along the horizontal center axis remains straight and distortion free nearly to the edge of the frame. With this in mind, different compositions can be created depending on how one chooses to frame the photo. This lens can be used to get a shot that would not normally be possible without moving a lot further away from the subject, and the fisheye effect can be somewhat mitigated with software if desired. Whether or not a fisheye shot can be made totally straight is probably a subject for debate. Note the the greatest fisheye effect is realized when using this lens with a full-frame body. I use it on a the 1.3x crop Canon 1D Mk2N, and it works very well, although with less fisheye effect than would be the case with a full frame sensor. The fisheye effect on a 1.6x crop body would be even less. The lens is small, light and compact, and has a different kind of lens cap than other lenses, because the cap has to protect the round protruding front glass element. Some folks have complained that the lens cap may become too loose, but so far that has not happened to mine. The build quality of this lens is very solid. The maximum f2.8 aperture of this lens makes it fast enough to work well in many low light situations. The lens is useful in some architectural photography applications as well.

765T = The Most Features for the Money
I researched many different GPS units before purchasing the 765T. I believe the 765T is the best value of all the Garmin units. It has every available Garmin feature except voice recognition, yet is sells for a very reasonable price. The 765T includes FREE lifetime traffic updates without the need for any kind of subscription. The lane assist feature is very handy when approaching an exit from a multiple lane highway. A zoomed in view of the exit lanes pops up on the display, with an arrow showing the correct exit lane to take. The current speed limit is also shown on the screen and I find this very helpful. Before purchasing this unit, I was often unsure of the speed limit because speed limits sometimes change very often. This information is updated instantly and seems to be very accurate. Driving through a major city last week, there were electronic speed limit signs on the interstate that are changed based on weather conditions, and the 765T even recognized those signals and displayed the correct speed limit at all times. I also like the wide screen format of this unit better than the smaller screen models. We purchased this unit to replace our Nuvi 360 which we have enjoyed using for several years. The on-off switch is getting flaky on that unit so we decided to purchase a newer unit since many of them offer far more features than the 360 for a much lower price. When it came time to purchase our 3rd map update for the 360, we decided to purchase the new 765T instead. Like our older unit, the 765T has its own internal battery and can operate while walking around on foot. This is a feature we're accustomed to using while on vacation and would not have a GPS without it. We have not used it enough on the batter to judge how long it would last between charges. But our 360 usually gave us about 4 hours, although rated for 6. I suppose turning the light level way down, could have probably made it last longer. Overall the 765T is a very good unit, and all the features appear to work very well. We are very satisfied with it. The only negative thing I could say about it is sometimes there is a slight delay when typing in an address on the on-screen keyboard. The keystrokes buffer up and then appear all of the sudden. This does not happen every time, but it can be annoying when it does happen. Overall I rate the 765T quality VERY GOOD, and the value for the money EXCELLENT. Final Note: We did not purchase the optional sleeve-type carry case because we saw reviews that indicated this unit does not fit properly in it. We also purchased the Garmin brand bean-bag type dashboard mount, and it is excellent. The generic mounts I saw did not seem to be as functional.

One of Canon's best all around lenses
This is a lens I have wanted for a long time but I did not buy it until recently when I knew it would be ideal for a particular job I was about to do. The 70-200 zoom range is ideal for many different types of photography, and the image stabilization is very effective. Combined with the fast f2.8 maximum aperture, this lens is great for low light situations when camera shake is likely to be a concern. The build quality of this lens is superb. The zoom ring is solid and firm, yet easy to move. The length of the lens does not change as it is zoomed in and out, and the front element does not rotate, so for those people wanting to use a polarizer, there is no worry of lens rotation making it difficult. The lens also has a focus limit switch to enable the user to switch the zoom range between closer or more distant subjects, which speeds up the focusing by limiting the amount of lens travel required to achieve focus. And this lens has image stabilization modes 1 and 2 which allows stabilization either in all directions, or just along one axis for use while panning a moving subject. I recently used this lens for some portraits because I loved the way I could easily blur the background using a wide aperture. This is a the ideal lens for intermediate distance sports shots, and works well to cover the whole gamut of shooting situations, when used in conjunction with a 2nd body mounted with a longer lens for more distant shots. The lens is a little bit on the pricey side, but at least the lens hood is included. And my experience is that well cared for "L" series lenses hold their value very well, so prospective purchasers can take some comfort knowing that. So far, I haven't found anything not to like about his lens. Some may consider it a little bit heavy at around 3-lbs, but it's no problem at all for me. This is quickly becomming one of my favorite lenses.
