NetGear Marketing: Range Extenders? More like New SSID Proxy Broadcaster

I bought a Netgear EX3700 hoping to boost and extend the 5GHz range on a Netgear C6300BD. While the EX3700 does extend the network range, it does so by broadcasting a new SSID. If you manage multiple devices with static IP and MAC Address filtering, the EX3700 assigns a new virtual MAC, and cannot manage these or assign an IP from the EX3700 management page. All new addresses must be reassigned on the main router, and existing network configurations on devices must be checked to ensure connectivity with previous assigned addresses. With that said, I cannot recommend buying extenders, but purchasing a more powerful main unit that can manage devices more efficiently. Logging on using NetGear apps is also not as streamlined as you may think, considering both Internet Gateway and Satellite Broadcaster are both NetGear. Use this product as a proxy satellite broadcaster, and not as an extension of your original SSID.
