Smart scripts. Smart characters, Smart acting.
The loving and quirky relationship of mother Lorelei and daughter Rory Gilmore was best realized during this first season. Smart scripts. Smart characters, Smart acting. But everyone got more neurotic as the series progressed (except, perhaps, for Dean).

Each chapter is loosely formed around a hit single at the time. Savage is a fine writer and this book looks at the year when a lot of things changed, even if most people think the changes occurred later.
