Top of the line camera in its hey day, now very outdated and obsolete.
It amuses me to think that someone might read a review of an eight year old camera, and amuses me even more that I'm writing it. The stand out features of the V1 are it's build quality (it's very sturdy, no creaks, with ten visible screws holding the metal shell to the plastic core), infrared mode, and laser assisted autofocus. It's an incredibly capable camera but don't expect image quality miracles. Erognomics are crap, with a very uncomfortabe grip. Don't even think about trying to operate this camera one handed. It has the trademark small sensor softness and low iso noise. If you can score it for under sixty bucks toss it in your backpack as your knockaround take anywhere camera. That's what I've done.
