bottom line-this monopod is a game changer!
if youre going back and forth between purchasing this monopod vs the one without the fluid video head, do yourself a favor and buy this one. its much cheaper to buy it together as opposed to buying it separately. this monopod is heavier but a lot more sturdy. i use this monopod for weddings and it helps having your camera on this as opposed to having it around your neck or across your body. photography-wise, your pictures will be much sharper with the use of a monopod or tripod. videography-wise, this is one of the only stablizing equipment youll need.the joint at the bottom has to be lubricated every few uses.

pictures become a lot more interesting
amazing lens! often referred as a "hybrid" lens, this lens is known to make things a lot more interesting. as a photographer i find myself using my 70-200 is 2.8L as my primary lens because of it's stunning pictures. having a 24-70L and 16-35L, i came to the conclusion that zoom lenses cannot give you the image quality that prime lenses have (other that the 70-200 is 2.8, of course!). so i decided to invest more in primes!
this "hybrid" lens is the perfect compliment to my collection. the IS certainly helps when taking macro pictures as well as pictures in low light. this is especially fun when taking pictures of insects and bugs! AF is a bit shaky, but who uses AF on macro shots anyway? build does feel "plasticky" compared to the zoom L lenses, but is sturdy enough. has a better feel than the non-IS version.
overall, this lens is a great "L"uxury lens. takes amazing pictures and makes the things a lot more interesting than they truly are. enjoy!

Best Camera I've Owned!!!
this is the newest addition to my arsenal of Canon cameras and so far my favorite! aside from this, i currently own a 5d mark II, and a 40d. i am a high school sports photographer and find the 8fps very useful especially with L glass. great in high iso, not as great as the 5d but comparable.
the focusing system on this camera is more advanced than both the 5d and 40d. the 18 mp is something to be very pleased with. you better have large compact flash cards because it fills it fast (especially raw files)! i wish that it has dual card slots like its nikon competitors. a thousand pictures in and i haven't even began playing with the video mode. im sure that i'll keep it even when the highly anticipated 8d or 6d/5d mark III comes out!
