bust budget customisable router on the market
This router (specifically the router class) is one of the few routers to support custom firmware as part of the Open Source. There is a whole bunch of CFWs out there for these routers including DD-WRT and Tomato, depending on how much experience you have with routers and networking, and what you are wanting to do with the router determines whether you need a CFW or not. As a standalone on its factory firmware, it is an amazing piece of kit suitable for home use, or for use as a Wireless AP - it is amazing.
When used in Wireless AP mode - it is better to use a CFW as you can alter the Tx/Rx details and strength. You will need to read up a little on it, to make sure you dont burn out the chipset or interfere with anything else on that frequency (Cellphones/police radios etc...) but, with a little tweaking, it is an amazing piece of kit.
