Working Mans Dead
1 of 1 found this helpful I have been a Dead Head for some time now. I have enjoyed many of The Dead's albums, such as American Beauty, Shakedown Street and such. Then I decided to give Working Mans Dead a try, since it was one of the few I hadn't had time to listen to. And to my surprise the album exceeded my expectations. I had heard this album was a lot more country like, but that was misinterpreted it is the most bluesy album I've heard in a while. With such works as "Cumberland Blues", "Black Peter", "New Speedway Boogie", and the infamous "Casey Jones". It was more of a collaboration of folk and blues rather than full out country. You can see that in titles such as "Dire Wolf", "Uncle John's Band" and "High Time". This should definitely be in your collection if you're a Dead Head such as I. Even if you're not familiar with The Dead but have a knack for blues or folk you should pick this album up.
